The Saskatchewan Flag was officially adopted in 1969. Designed by a teacher Anthony Drake. The design incorporates the Saskatchewan floral emblem, the prairie lily or western red lily. With the provincial shield in the upper hoist corner of the flag. The background stripes are green over gold. The green part of the flag for the forests in the northern part of Saskatchewan and the gold represents the wheat fields and prairies to the south.
